You get everything you need including some chips to start. You can watch them make the tortillas fresh. We found our great little Mexican food spot and we will be back. ”
“ This place has fantastic food, best Posole I've found at any restaurant, huevos rancheros were fantastic, Pastor or Carne Asada Sopes are amazing, great horchata. Overall just really enjoy every time we eat here. Only downside is the size of the restaurant/seating is cramped especially since they are so busy (I'm clearly not the only person that thinks it's great) and if it was up to me I'd rather have it be order at the table style rather than at the counter. “ Wow. Do you want the best carnitas you've ever had? If so, try these. I assure you with all my "I-eat-the-best-Mexican-food-all-over-the-country" heart that they're the good. They're crispy-edged, fresh, greasy, and piled high into soft corn tortillas. Yum. Don Pancho's salsas are also excellent. I recommend the spicy, creamy, green avocado sauce as my favorite. As a plus, when you sit down, they bring you warm chips with refried beans and cotija cheese on them, along with fresh salsa. Excellent. Another excellent and unique offering is their "quesadilla de maíz." It's like a fresh masa-dough circle that is deep fried and filled with your choice of meat, cheese, lettuce, and pico. It is like a fried tamale but folded like a taco. Just try one. WOW. Great aguas frescas (I'd recommend the pineapple) and a good soda machine with free refills. The place is clean and bright, with an EXCELLENT panadería (bakery) next door. Outside are misters and seating on a nice patio. Prices are lunch-counter typical and quite reasonable. And I maintain that these are the best carnitas anywhere. ”
“ My family and I came here for Father's Day and we were really craving soup. This place has 4 different soup options to choose from and each one are very different from the other so props to this restaurant that they get down like that. Very hard to do and this restaurant did a great job showcasing their soups. We tried the pozole, caldo de pollo and birria w/ Chivo meat. The birria was by far the best dish out of the three but the caldo de pollo and the pozole were so flavorful and had that homemade touch to it. The spices worked well together and the meat were so tender I wanted to keep eating but ran out of food. The interior felt like I was visiting my grandma's house. The people working here were so attentive and efficient . They also have agua frescas and Mexican coke if you're craving it. My family and I will definitely be back. Strongly recommend. ”
“ I visited Don Pancho because it had great Yelp reviews. It's a "hole in the wall " Mexican restaurant in Avondale. As I came in, most of the tables were full and all had at least one bowl of menudo. I ordered a shrimp burrito and a Mexican coke. They gave me a number and I took a small empty table. They brought complimentary chips with beans and salsa to my table not long after I sat down. A few minutes later my burrito was delivered piping hot! The shrimp, beans, grilled onions and peppers were stuffed inside a homemade tortilla. Outstanding!!! When I finished my food, someone was there quickly asking if they could clear my food. (I think they want to turn tables) It's a great restaurant. I'll be back! ”
